  Chelsea SC Announcement

03 FEB 2012 - Dear Chelsea Family,

On behalf of the Chelsea Board of Directors, we hope your 2012 is off to a great a start. Our goal is to continue the strong heritage that JUSA Select started many years ago that has now become Chelsea SC. It is our goal to maintain the integrity this club has long been known for and provide our children the best competitive soccer environment in all of North Orange County. We remain steadfast in our MISSION STATEMENT.

With the New Year comes change. Effective immediately, Gabe Smith has resigned as Director of Coaching and will be exploring new opportunities. We wish to thank Gabe for his years of service to the club, his positive demeanor and thoughtful style when working with our kids. With this transition, the club is in the process of creating a new operating plan that will lead to improvements in the following areas:

- Financial governance and club dues
- Tournament operations
- Coaching curriculum and player development roadmap
- Standardized trainer policies for payment and performance evaluations
- Camp operations
- Player recruitment and college support

Effective immediately, we are privileged to announce the appointment of MIKE STAUBER as Director of Coaching - Boys, and JENNY HAMMOND - Director of Coaching Girls. In this position, the DOC will be responsible for coaching placements, performance management, curriculum development and adherence, new team acquisitions and execution of all team policies.

Please join us in congratulating both Mike and Jenny on their new positions. We are extremely confident that they will help lead our club to new heights and excited about the plans they have for our players. The Board will continue to communicate the positive changes being made and welcome any feedback you have towards greater improvement.

Chelsea SC is the preeminent club in North Orange County. We will continue to develop players, promote teams and help guide our players to the next level. We will attract new coaching talent and players while getting back to dominance on both the Regional and National levels. We are very excited about our future and very glad you are a part of it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Lori Bolin or Eric Coe whose contact information can be found on our website.

Sincerely,

Chelsea SC Board of Directors

G02 Blue - 2011 Nike Harvest Cup Champions
G02_BLUE 26 NOV 2011 - Congratulations to the Chelsea SC G02 Blue girls for winning the 2011 Nike Harvest Cup this past Thanksgiving weekend. The girls won their first match 3-0 against Capo Crush and then won their second match 1-0 against the Irvine Strikers. The Semi-finals found our girls matched up in a tough street fight against a formidable SC Blues squad where our girls ended up winning 2-1 from a late goal from forward Neleah Dunlap.

Battered, bloody and bruised our young Chelsea ladies dug deep in their finals match up against Fresno's Alliance U9 Black; who had shut out all teams prior to our match up. Late in the second half, midfielder Ashley Wielenga redirected a deflected shot and found the back of the net winning the game 1-0. In four games these young girls produced 7 goals for, while only allowing 1 against. We are very proud of these young ladies as they continue to prepare and focus on the pending Round of 32 in League Cup. Thank you to the parents, families and friends who supported us all year and weekend long.

With 3 shutouts and 11 goals scored, Chelsea went undefeated to win the championship. Playing other silver level teams was a good test to gauge our preparation for upcoming league play and everyone should feel good about where we are at.

  G99 Blue Wins United Cup
G99_BLUE 30 AUG 2011 - The G99 Blue team competed in the United Cup this past weekend and took home the trophy. The tournament began with a 2-2 tie against FC Blades and a 2-0 win against United FC. The girls played great and prepared for a hard match against OC Premier. The game was intense and a physical battle. Both teams wanted to win and Chelsea needed to win to get to the semifinal. With a goal we pulled a victory and made it to the semifinal.

This was an interest match because we played OC Premier again. This game was even more dramatic and with a 2-2 tie we had to decide the game in PK's. We defeated OC Premier a second time and moved to the final against Legends FC. The Final was a rematch from the Semi final from Albion Cup in July which Legends defeated Chelsea SC. This time it was our turn after getting behind by a goal we scored to goals and defeated them 2-1 to capture the United Cup! What a great result and we are proud of the girls for their efforts.
