B02 Blue - OC Kickoff Classic Finalists
B02_BLUE 14 SEP 2012 - Congratulations to Chelsea B02 Blue for reaching the finals of the OC Kickoff Classic tournament.

Our team played 3 very tough and competitive teams over the course of the weekend to reach the finals. 'The boys showed true grit and determination and did not give up even if we were down a goal. Although we did not win the final match, the team played with a lot of heart and gave it their best effort throughout the tournament.

This whole summer, the boys battle hard against top teams and really showed their mental toughness whenever we were playing from behind. They should be proud of what they have achieved in this tournament as well as the whole summer.

Well done, Chelsea B02 Blue!

G98_BLACK 20 AUG 2012 - Congratulations to the Chelsea G98 Black on winning the Ventura County Fusion Cup. This tournament required the team to travel a few hours up the coast in order to compete with teams from a different region.

It was a long trip filled with many activities off the soccer field, yet the girls dominated play with 4 wins and 4 shutouts, scoring 13 goals in the process. The final was won comfortably, 3-0 against a tough CCB team from central California, which capped off the weekend perfectly. Well done girls!

The girls did this with four straight wins with a total of 16 goals for and 1 goal against with 3 of those games being shutouts and doing this over two days to advance to the finals on Monday where they faced off against the Premier Anaheim FC.

The girls went 2 down in the first half but rallied back to with 2 goals of their own to tie it up and put the game into overtime. The girls came out fast and strong and fought well but Anaheim FC scored first and won with a golden goal.

B02 Blue - Wolfpack Invitational Finalists
B02_BLUE 07 JUL 2012 - Congratulations to Cheslea B02 Blue for being a finalist in the 2012 Wolfpack Invitational Tournament. This is quite an accomplishment since the team entered the tournament a bit shorthanded with a couple players out, and with limited game time during the spring season. Chelsea B02 had a strong win in Game 1, and then found themselves in a heated battle for games 2 and 3. In both games, Chelsea needed 1-2 goals late into the 2nd half. The team pulled together and kept fighting. They found a way to score while playing tough defense late into both games to earn the points necessary to advance to the championship game.

Although we came up a little short in the finals, our true victory was the team's perseverance and comeback spirit in the tournament. Way to go Chelsea B02. Keep it up!
G02 Blue - Pegasus Cup Champions
G02_BLUE 02 JUL 2012 - Congratulations to the Chelsea SC G02 Blue squad who competed in and won the 2012 Pegasus Cup held in San Diego, CA. The girls ended up going 3-1 over the weekend. Their third game found our Chelsea girls facing San Diego Navy and ended up victorious with a result of 1-0.

The championship game found of girls facing the Hot Spurs Premier club again, after a tough loss earlier in the tournament. Both teams left everything they had on the field and after full regulation and two over times, still found themselves dead locked at 2 goals apiece. Deadlocked at 2, each team decided who their 5 PK shooters were and the goalies got prepared. 8 shooters later, our Chelsea SC G02 Blue squad, anchored by the solid goal keeping of Ms. Brooke Ryan, won the match and captured their first championship of their 2012-2013 season.

"The growth tournament over tournament is really what we are focused on, and the girls showed great courage and strong development month over month," stated Mark Dunlap, Head Coach Chelsea SC G02 Blue.       G02 Blue - CV Manchester Cup Finalists
G02_BLUE 09 JUN 2012 - The Chelsea SC G02 Blue team started out their 2012-2013 season on the right foot. Making it to the Championship game through some talented competition, the girls were finalists in the CV Manchester Cup held in San Diego, CA on June 8th and 9th, 2012. These hard working and dedicated young ladies defeated Arsenal FC (S. Payne) to begin the weekend. Immediately jumping into the deep end, the girls were matched up against CSC Red, defending Presidents Division State Cup Finalists in 2011-2012. Losing 1-2 with only 15 seconds left Shelby Kain delivered a perfect corner kick to the receiving head of Sterling Millsap scoring the tying goal ending the match. Arsenal FC (Brown) and our girls battled to a 0-0 tie therefore propelling our Chelsea girls into the Championship match against CSC Red.

Each team left everything on the field and at the end of regulation found themselves tied, 3-3. After double OT and still deadlocked at 3's, the game was decided by penalty kicks where we came up just short of our goal and lost by 1 kick. We are extremely proud of these girls and their hard work, dedication and passion for this great game. This was a great step in their overall development and we look forward to watching them grow technically and tactically over the year to come.
