On day one they beat the Wolfpack 2-0 in their first game. In game two they tied FC Murrieta 0 - 0 to end up tied for first in points with them. Day two they beat ES Gunners 2 - 0 in the semi finals to play FC Murrieta again in the finals to shut them out 2 - 0 to win the tournament.

G99 Blue - Carlsbad Cup Champions
G99_BLUE 22 JUL 2010 - Congratulations to the Chelsea G99's for winning the Carlsbad Cup! In an exciting (and long) 3 day tournament, the G99 team came away with a hard fought 2-1 victory over West Coast FC in the finals on Monday evening. After going up 2-0 at the half, the girls fought to the finish and came away with a well-deserved tournament championship.

Ironically, the weekend started out with the same opponent, but different result, losing to West Coast 0-2. From there the group rebounded, with a refreshing pool party, and came back out to the field ready to go, winning 2-0, to set up a make-it-or-break-it third game on Sunday morning.

Chelsea took the lead 1-0 early in the second-half against the Oceanside Breakers, who only needed a tie to advance to the semi-finals. While the Breakers created several quality chances to even the score late in the game, the goalkeeping prowess of Izzy Magana proved to be equal to the challenge.

This victory set up a Monday afternoon showdown with TV Hawks, a team who had won all three of their preliminary games, and had yet to give up a goal. The Chelsea girls found themselves down early in the match, 0-1. Even after the girls tied the game, a late goal made the game 1-2 at the half.

Pumped up and confident, the girls came out ready to play the second half, but gave up yet another goal to find themselves down 1-3, and the parents pondering an early return home. Then the magic happened.

In the 20 minutes that remained, against a team who hadn't given up any goals in the preceding games, the Chelsea girls lit up the scorecard by netting 5 goals, including a hat-trick by Sierra Chhoeung, punting the final tally to 6-3, and catapulting the team into the finals.

In the final game, the girls were able to avenge their earlier loss to West Coast and sealed up their victory with two outstanding goals, and a dynamite performance by goalkeeper Emma Deane.

Congratulations Girls! We are so proud of you! Whoo-Whoo!
B97 Blue - Albion Cup Champions
B97_BLUE 21 JUL 2010 - Chelsea SC B97 entered the 2010 Albion Cup National Showcase in San Diego to test the hardest competition from across the country and also various parts of the world (Thailand was represented this year). The boys only gave up only 1 goal the entire tournament and had to beat two Gold teams from NoCal to win it all.

B97 had to play 5 games in just 2 1/2 days, fight through injuries
and very physical play. They won the overall bracket play and beat a very talented Castro Valley team (Sacramento) in the final game on Monday by a close score of 2-1.

This by far has been the best tournament these boys have played and the bonding time they enjoyed braces them for great success this Fall. We are so very proud of you all.
Chelsea G00 Blue Wins PSA Invitational
G00_BLUE 18 JUL 2010 - The Chelsea G00 Blue Girls took home the Championship trophy this weekend at the PSA Invitational. The tournament started and ended with hard-fought battles against PSA's own G00 Blue team. Chelsea took the tournament opener win from the PSA girls in a 5-2 match, scoring two important goals in the final minutes. Next the Chelsea girls faced Corona United, emerging with an 8-0 shutout victory in the sweltering heat. Sunday morning saw Chelsea Blue vs Chelsea Black in the Semi Finals where Chelsea Blue won in a very exciting 3-1 match. Facing PSA Blue again for the Championship, in the worst of the mid-afternoon heat, the game ended in a 1-1 tie, then in the first 5 minute overtime period, the referee caught a handball in the goalkeeper's box which resulted in a penalty kick for Chelsea. Chelsea's Morgan Weinstein took the kick and brought home the trophy for the Chelsea girls.

Your Chelsea Girls are:

Top Row, Right to Left; Coach Pete, Brooke Franks, Hannah Alfaro, Sofia Rose Delgadillo, Nicole Zepeda, Morgan Weinstein, Regan Millsap, Coach Fernando and Coach Chris.

Chelsea G00 Blue Wins Copa Laguna
G00_BLUE 14 JUN 2010 - The girls of Chelsea G00 Blue won their first pre-season tournament this weekend in an exciting Championship match against the Celtic G00 Harps. The Harps took an early 1-0 lead with the Chelsea girls tying up the match twice and winning it 3-2 with a less-than-one-minute-left goal. The Harps brought speed and big boots against the Chelsea girls. The Harps took one goal on a long distance free kick that went over the reach of our keeper. Our Chelsea girls are excited about the coming season and are working hard in preparation. Thank you Coach Pete!

G97 Blue - Newport Mesa Memorial Day Cup Finalist
G97_BLUE 31 MAY 2010 - Facing silver and silver-elite competition in bracket play, G97 prevailed under difficult circumstances. The first game produced an opening round victory thanks to goals by Nadia Lee (2) , Luli Bethencourt (1), and a wonderful set piece goal by Julia Tan (1).

The second game proved difficult. Once again Nadia Lee produced the only goal with a wicked blast in the side netting from about 20 yards. Defenders hanged tough under a nasty assault by a talented Tustin striker crew. The back four lead by Emily Pelstring, CeCe McPhee, Makayla Lichtenwalter, and McKenna Posada bent, but never broke. Many nice saves under pressure were made by our goal tender Gillian Kliss. Once again the team was supported with excellent distribution lead by Kaylee Bolin, Melany Dillion, Audrey Briseno, Mariya Matinez, and Jackie Cloutier. Keep up the great work girls!
G01 Blue - Newport Mesa Memorial Day Cup Finalists
G01_BLUE 31 MAY 2010 - In just their second tournament EVER Chelsea G01 made it to the finals at the 2010 Newport Mesa Memorial Day Cup. Going 2-1 in bracket play was enough to advance to the final game.

Tremendous effort was displayed by all. Excellent goal tending by Danielle Gundling and Karson Hauck produced two clean sheets. While the defending crew of Rosie Martin, Olivia Coons, Sarah Portis put up the iron curtain. First game goals came from Caitlyn Viveros (1), Ashley Dart (2), Tiffany Schennum (2), and Kira Bolin (1). Second game goal came from Ashley Dart (1). The team exploded for five more goals with a hat trick by Ashley Dart (3), and Kira Bolin (2). These goals all came as a result of excellent mid-field play and passing by Karson Hauck and Marissa Jaquez by setting up many of the goals. Keep up the great work girls!
  B95 Black - State Cup Sweet 16
B95_BLACK 19 APR 2010 - Chelsea B95 Black just completed an exciting weekend at the State Cup Tournament. The Team has gone through a number of roster changes over the spring in preparation for State Cup. Advancing from Pool Play, the Team won their Round of 32 game against CV Manchester. After being down 0-2 in the first-half, Chelsea B95 Black made some half-time adjustments, and showed amazing heart by coming back to tie the game 2-2 at the end of regulation time. This forced the teams into overtime, where B95 Black came away with a well deserved 4-3 win in Double OT! The back and forth victory launched Chelsea B95 Black into the Round of 16.

Unfortunately their State Cup run ended when they ran into a very hot Golden State White team that was undefeated during the regular season, and hadn't given up a goal in the State Cup Tournament. B95 Black played the entire tournament with only one sub, and took pride in the fact that they were the only team to score against Golden State, three times in fact...

The Team will be holding open tryouts on April 27th and 29th from 6:15 - 8:45 pm at Vista Del Verde Park. Interested players should contact Coach - Mike Greco, or Team Admin. - Ray Bandong.
Athena Czegledy Makes ODP Young Olympians
G98_BLUE 22 MAR 2010 - Congratulations to Athena Czegledy for making the ODP Young Olympians. Athena AKA "Godess of the Goal" is keeper for Chelsea G98 Blue. Her teammates, team families, and her coach Luis Gutierrez are so proud of her earning this great honor. She will be attending camp the weekends of March 27th and 28th and April 3rd and 4th. In the last several months Athena has rarely given up a goal and has numerous shut outs.

The weekend of March 21-22 she helped her team win the Diamond Bar Walnut Valley Shootout by having a complete tournament shutout. The fact that Athena is a tremendous team player, team leader, and beautiful young lady on and off the field makes this accomplishment so well deserved.

Athena, we are so proud of you!
