G98 Blue - Mustang Stampede Finalists
G98_BLUE 10 AUG 2010 - Chelsea G98 Blue traveled to northern California the weekend of August 6-8th. They played against a number of northern California teams as well as a few southern California teams. It was an amazing weekend of soccer and bonding for the players and families. The greatest thing they came away with aside from a Finalist Medal was a love each other and team unity that can't be beat.

The girls played 6 games with a lot of heart and tenacity. Games were against Washington Rush with a 4-0 win, Surf White with a 3-3 tie, and against Gryphons they had a 4-0 win. In quarter finals they beat Placer United with a 3-1 win, and in semi-fnials the win was 3-1 vs Pleasanton Rage. In every game the girls used their exceptional passing skills and speed to complete each victory.

In the finals they met Legends where the game was played almost completely in the mid-field. The game went into 2 periods of overtime ending in a 0-0 tie. The girls were disappointed with a loss in PKs, however, parents couldn't be prouder of how the girls played all weekend. Coming away with a finalist medal in such a prestigious tournament is something everyone was ecstatic about. Overall, the team had 17 goals for and 5 against, more goals for then any other team in the U12 division, what a weekend!
G98 Blue - DBWV Shootout Champions
G98_BLUE 22 MAR 2010 - Chelsea G98 Blue blew away the competition March 21-22 in the Diamond Bar Walnut Valley Shootout. They played four games with an amazing 22 goals for and and even more amazing 0 goals against.

Goal contributors were Shianne Roselli (with a header), Maya Yamak, Kistin Shihad, Erykah Browne, Izel Gutierrez, Trina Jimenez, Jacquelyn Dunlap, Alyssa Franks, Gabriella Hurtado, Molly Melanson, and Makenna Ohirko.

Great defense for the shutouts by Lea Delgadillo and Mikayla Schachtell and huge kudos to Athena Czegledy, goal keeper, for allowing no goals against the entire tournament. The team beat Manchester United 4-0, Corona Eagles 4-0, Riverside FC 9-0, and Canyon PSA 5-0.

Congratulations to Coach Luis Gutierrez and his team for their strong showing and championship win.
Athena Czegledy Makes ODP Young Olympians
G98_BLUE 22 MAR 2010 - Congratulations to Athena Czegledy for making the ODP Young Olympians. Athena AKA "Godess of the Goal" is keeper for Chelsea G98 Blue. Her teammates, team families, and her coach Luis Gutierrez are so proud of her earning this great honor. She will be attending camp the weekends of March 27th and 28th and April 3rd and 4th. In the last several months Athena has rarely given up a goal and has numerous shut outs.

The weekend of March 21-22 she helped her team win the Diamond Bar Walnut Valley Shootout by having a complete tournament shutout. The fact that Athena is a tremendous team player, team leader, and beautiful young lady on and off the field makes this accomplishment so well deserved.

Athena, we are so proud of you!
  G98 Blue - State Cup Sweet 16
Chelsea G98 Blue is off to the Sweet 16 for State Cup in Lancaster February 27th. They dominated pool play by going 4-0, they gave up no goals in 4 games and scored 13 goals for. In Round 32 they beat Carlsbad Lightning 3-1. Since league the team has a record of 15-4-4. Offense is doing a great job putting the ball in the net, while defense is doing a great job of keeping the ball out. Good luck next weekend girls!
Chelsea SC G98 Blue Burns Through Summer 2008
G98_BLUE 31 AUG 2008 - Chelsea's U10 Sliver Elite G98 Blue tore up the competition this summer in over 6 tournaments. Beginning in San Diego for the Pegasus Cup our young ladies knocked the rust off against exceptional competition to find themselves in the semi finals. Although they did not move on to the championship round, they still managed to secure 3rd.

Spring boarding from there, our incredible ladies found themselves in 4 straight Championship matches. Allowing no more than 2 goals total per tournament, Chelsea's G98 Blue took 2nd in the Slammers Classic, Oaks Polo Field Classic and NHB Cup. Finishing off this whirl wind schedule, our Chelsea stars scored 20 goals allowing 0 against in defeating 4 straight teams to win the JUSA Kickoff Classic.

All of the girls have worked extremely hard and have remained focused. We look forward to a tough yet rewarding league schedule, already out with a win over Laguna Hills Eclipse and a tie with last years League Cup winner and 2nd place finalist in State Cup - Blues.
G98 Blue - Champions at 2008 OC Mayors Cup
G98_BLUE 04 MAR 2008 - They could huff and puff and throw 50 mile an hour winds at ChelseaSC G98 Blue and even that could not stop their domination of the 2008 OC Mayors Cup. The team scored 23 goals while SHUTTING out all the opposition and allowing 0 goals over the course of 4 games. The girls battled Cypress Elite, Canyon PSA and Sereno 98 White on their way to the championship match. During their preliminary matches, ChelseaSC G98 Blue received scoring contributions from 7 of its 12 players. Defensively Chelsea dug in and played outstanding team defense; anchored by their Goalie Emily Valenciano.

During the final match winds were blowing between 50-65 miles and hour; almost carrying our young players off with them. Chelsea pulled ahead in the first half 1-0. Almost immediately after the second half began, Chelsea scored another goal and secured victory by defeating Cypress Elite 2 - 0. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the tremendous growth from a group of girls who have worked extremely hard and are dedicated to this sport they love.
